Plans 5x Expansion of Internet Backbone Nodes
Lexington, Massachusetts, July 6, 2009 - Gomez, Inc. (www.gomez.com), the leader in Web application experience management, today announced that it is sizably extending its testing and monitoring network in China. Gomez intends to offer Web application performance monitoring from Internet backbone nodes in all Chinese provinces and regions, as well as mobile Web performance monitoring. The investment will make the Gomez Network the largest and most comprehensive Web application performance testing and monitoring network in China and worldwide.
China's Web infrastructure is highly complex, with multiple carriers, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) in each province carrying traffic along the Web application delivery chain to an end-user's browser. Consequently, Web application performance can fluctuate widely from province to province making it hard for businesses to identify and resolve performance issues that impact their end-users' Web experiences. The expansion of the Gomez Network will provide Chinese and international companies with the greatest visibility into the performance and availability of their Web applications in each province, so that they can quickly identify and resolve business-impacting performance issues.
Gomez already offers seven Internet backbone testing locations in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi'an, Hong Kong and Taipei, which provide enterprise-grade operational and availability monitoring for Web applications. Additionally, the Gomez Last Mile™ network, which consists of consumer-grade desktops connected via ISPs on dial-up and low and high broadband connections, already spans every province in China, providing insight into the localized performance of Web applications.
"China is the world's largest Internet population, driving explosive business opportunity both domestically and internationally," said Yuan Cheng, General Manager of Gomez in China. "Until now, companies have had limited visibility into Web application performance issues that could jeopardize these revenue and growth opportunities. Gomez's expansion of its testing and monitoring network will provide businesses with the most comprehensive geographic visibility into the performance of their Web applications throughout China."
Gomez China currently provides Web application experience management solutions to over 50 China customers and partners as well as hundreds of international Gomez customers that utilize the China network.
