MegaPath Achieves Cisco Powered Designation In Managed Connectivity

These designations recognize MegaPath for having worked to acquire the resources and establish the procedures to deploy, manage and support these managed services in North America.

MegaPath’s inclusion in the Cisco Powered program highlights the company’s ability to provide reliable connectivity to, between, and across their customers’ locations. In addition, it signifies MegaPath’s commitment to maintaining a consistent and high-level Quality of Service (QoS) by prioritizing performance-sensitive and business-critical applications for optimal delivery of data. Specifically, MegaPath has achieved Cisco Powered Managed Connectivity designations in the following areas:

  • Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) virtual private network (VPN) service provides private IP networks with high-quality, high-security, and any-to-any connectivity. The service is based on the Cisco IP NGN architecture, MPLS and Cisco Design and Implementation Guides. The service delivers appropriate levels of latency, jitter and packet loss to help ensure the successful concurrent handling of multiple types of traffic, especially voice and video, from customer site to customer site.
  • IP Trunking service is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based trunk from the service provider to an IP private branch exchange (PBX) or key system, delivering voice, multimedia and data traffic. The service provider provides basic connectivity, emergency services, dial-plan management and operator services. Local and long-distance call connections are completed by the service provider. A managed IP Trunking service includes the IP termination service and features a PBX with a gateway, an integrated access device (IAD) or an IP PBX.

Cisco Powered Managed Service designation requirements are based on the Information Technology Infrastructure Library® (ITIL) framework of best practices as well as market and industry requirements.
